Who it is for

This is the highest-priority employment category. It is meant for people with extraordinary ability in sciences, arts, education, business or sports, for outstanding professors and researchers, and for managers or executives of multinational companies.

Three categories within EB-1

Each one has its own profile. In the review we define which one fits you.

EB-1A · Extraordinary ability

You file your own petition

For people with extraordinary ability in sciences, arts, education, business or sports. You do not need a job offer.

EB-1B · Professors and researchers

With a job offer

For outstanding professors or scientific researchers. You need a job offer from a university or a research institute.

EB-1C · Managers and executives

Your employer files

For managers or executives of multinational companies who already work for the company abroad and will be transferred to a related office, subsidiary or affiliate in the U.S.

What you need

  • Evidence of nationally or internationally recognized achievements: awards, publications, memberships or press coverage.
  • Recommendation letters from experts in your field.
  • For managers and executives: at least one year in a managerial role, within the last three years, at a related company outside the U.S.
  • In the extraordinary ability category you can file your own petition. In the others, your employer files it.
